Department: STM Student Recruitment

Status: Term (August 28 - November 30, 2023) This position will not be extended past the end date.

Hours: Monday - Friday, normally 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (with some evening and weekend work)

Full Time Equivalent (FTE): 0.8 FTE (Modified Work Arrangement)

Salary Range: $20.00 per hour

St. Thomas More College (STM), the Catholic Liberal Arts College federated with the University of Saskatchewan (Usask) seeks a temporary Student Recruitment Intern.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, Marketing, and Student Recruitment - St. Thomas More College, the Term Intern will be mentored by STM\'s Recruitment Officer and will serve as an effective ambassador in the promotion of post-secondary education specific to STM as a Catholic Liberal Arts College, federated with USask. Specific responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

  • Participation in and/or leading engagement activities to inform prospective students about accessibility and availability for many distinct STM educational opportunities.
  • Communication with prospective students, parents, and high school counsellors.
  • Events coordination; travel (some overnight - within the province), and data entry.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum third year student in Liberal Arts or a recent graduate is required. Preference will be given to a STM student or student that has taken several STM courses and is or has been engaged in College initiatives.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver\'s License is required.
  • Previous experience in data entry, public speaking, and event coordination are considered assets.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, and
  • Proven diligence to protect and maintain critical confidential information.
