Casual Kitchen Helper (St. Thomas More College)

Casual Kitchen Helper (as required)

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits at St. Thomas More College, the Casual Kitchen Helper (as required) primarily performs tasks related to the preparation of food and food services under moderate supervision and in compliance with food safety regulations and policies.

Salary: $16.41 per hour

Hours of Work: Hours of work are normally 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Friday, as needed.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Handles and cleans food services equipment and maintains cleanliness in the Food Services area;

\xc2\xb7 Supports all stations (prepares hot and cold beverages and serves customer orders);

\xc2\xb7 Performs appropriate dishwashing of all wares in the Food Services areas;

  • Cleans and sanitizes tables and maintains dish machine and dish area to include cleanliness and chemical levels;
  • Accurately restocks supplies and performs some basic food preparation using safe food handling practices;
  • Sets up banquet space for meetings and luncheons;
  • Provides excellent customer service; and,
  • Other College-wide duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The Casual Kitchen Helper will be a team player, is well organized and is able to follow directions. The position requires customer service skills and the ability to work independently using sound judgement. The successful candidate will have knowledge of and be able to work within health regulations.

Physical Abilities: The Casual Kitchen Helper must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry a variety of items, stand, sit, squat, and reach for things in a small kitchen area.

Education: High School diploma. SK Food Safe Handler\'s Certificate and Serve It Right Saskatchewan Certificate will be considered an asset.

Experience: Experience working in the food service industry is required.
