Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this position will support the engineering team in various operations support and project activities. The Engineering Intern will work on the scope prioritized by the engineering team.



This role is based in our Fort Saskatchewan office. The individual in the role must live within reasonable driving distance from Fort Saskatchewan for the duration of the internship. Please note that no relocation assistance is provided for this role.



This position is open to post-secondary undergraduate students enrolled in a four-year engineering degree who have completed their third year in engineering. Candidates must be returning to school following the end of the work term to be eligible for this role. Recent graduates are not eligible for this opportunity.



WORK TERM:

16 MONTHS - May 2026 - August 2027



Key Responsibilities



Support with document markups (P&ID, Shutdown Keys, Control Philosophies) Support various technical, cost, and project management activities Develop a document to support asset utilization for tax assessment Process flow review and documentation (flow-charts) of various engineering and project management activities and processes Technical evaluations and review of engineering and operational issues (supervised by the Senior Engineer) Conduct witnessed performance testing on critical equipment Under direct supervision, develop business cases and authorization for expenditure documents to start capital projects Support Safe Work Procedure Development to execute field activities Gather Technical Data to support transient data modelling Develop and Execute Management of Change (minor projects) Support preparation of feasibility studies, capital and operating cost estimates, milestone schedules, cost profiles Support preparation of development plans, risk analyses and conceptual/preliminary design work to support business development activities Gather information for and participate in HAZOP's Interact with multiple stakeholders and team members internally and externally Provide technical and administrative support in managing operational changes Support the development of engineering procedures and controls

NOTE:

This position will involve trips to field facilities approximately 2-4 times/month.



Qualifications and Experience



Education:



Active attendance in a four-year engineering undergraduate degree Must have completed the third year in engineering before the start of the internship Must be returning to school following the end of the work term to be eligible for this role Recent graduates are not eligible for this opportunity

Experience:



Experience with data gathering and modelling is an asset Knowledge of P&ID, shutdown keys, and control philosophies is an asset Understanding the process review and documentation process is an asset Students must have a full class 5 driver's license to travel to the field

Skills:



Proficient in the use of computer word processing and spreadsheets Must have strong oral communication, active listening, and writing skills
