. This position acts as a resource and primary point of contact for parties who are interested in participating in BCIT international mobility opportunities including Study Abroad, Exchanges, Double Degrees, Field Schools, or other international mobility programs. Coordinates international programs for students in all BCIT schools to complete as part of their degree/certification program. Provides support in developing and maintaining new and existing partnerships ensuring the successful promotion, development, and implementation of international mobility programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Contributes to the development of international mobility programs, liaising with BCIT schools and international institutions to coordinate opportunities in the delivery of engagement activities for incoming and outgoing students.
Acts as the primary point of contact for all BCIT international mobility opportunities. Works closely with faculty, students, parents, international partner institutions, external vendors, and internal student service departments to handle student inquiries about mobility programs, maintains up-to-date knowledge of international opportunities, and provides accurate and timely information to all relevant parties.
Provides administrative support on the processing of prospective international students' identification and selection, applications assessment and management, coordination of waitlists, analysis and resolution of inquiries, local and international promotion of programs, and logistics of international mobility operations.
Creates and maintains administrative processes, procedures and guidelines to provide specialized and centralized support to students within all BCIT Schools on mobility programs, ensuring the compliance with applicable international regulations and BCIT's policies.
Liaises with schools, faculty and students to provide support on program/course selections, grant applications, scholarship opportunities, onboarding, pre-departure
session, post-experience re-entry activities, and on-going student services. Refers students to the proper services/departments as necessary to ensure that students needs are met.
Researches and provides information to the management regarding current and potential partners, international education practices, cultural diversity, immigration regulations, market conditions and international funding opportunities, international mobility trends and immigration law updates. Prepares reports to review existing partnerships and makes recommendations for future engagement. Prepares due diligence reports with respect to new potential academic partners.
Prepares and presents briefings, market intelligence and recommendations to promote international opportunities and to enhance students' participation in mobility programs offered by the Institute.
Assists the Director in monitoring the status of exchange agreements between BCIT and external partners; keeps the Director informed of the status of exchange agreements affecting BCIT. Provides administrative support in renewal of exchange agreements.
Plans, promotes, and facilitates workshops for supporting staff and management on topics related to internationalization; develops promotional material as required for all student mobility activities in collaboration with Marketing & Communications department; attends local and international mobility events as required.
Supports planning and organizing of on-campus and industry visits for international delegations.
Participates to the development and implementation of promotional and marketing events designed to enhance awareness of global mobility opportunities.
Participates in Records Custodian training and remains current with record keeping practices, policies, and procedures (both BCIT and FOIPOP).
Undertakes related duties as assigned, consistent with the job grade for this position.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, International Education, Cross-Cultural Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, International Development, or other relevant.
Experience:
Two years' general experience plus four years of relevant experience in a similar position in a post-secondary education environment.
Software/Computer Application(s) and Expertise:
Demonstrated skills in the use of MS Office, with particular emphasis on the ability to create complex, multifunctional spreadsheets using Excel.
Demonstrated skills in the use of internet applications, as well as administration, reporting and Content Management Systems (e.g., Banner, Cognos, Marqui, WordPress).
Communication/Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.
Strong customer service orientation required, especially when dealing with students, instructors, and clients in order to maintain a good relationship and continuous business/working relations.
Administrative Skills:
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and effectively manage time.
Ability to exercise tact and discretion when handling sensitive matters.
Excellent planning, coordination, prioritization and follow-up skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities while maintaining high levels of customer service.
Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
Must be very well organized, responsible, detail oriented and professional.
Ability to take and transcribe meeting minutes.
Excellent keyboarding skills for notetaking and correspondence.

Salary Range
Salary Grade 8: $62,669 - $68,082 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
External hires are initially placed at the minimum of the salary range with set progressions to the maximum as per the Collective Agreement. Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment.
