International Medical Graduate (IMG) - Functional Medicine

About the Practice
Alexandra (Alex) Nowak, Nurse Practitioner (NP), leads a dynamic, Ontario-based virtual functional medicine practice focused on preventative care through hormone optimization. Alex is a Canadian-trained and certified Nurse Practitioner with a passion for evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Our clientele at iOptimal Functional Medicine Clinic are highly educated professionals--including business owners, executives, and their spouses--who prioritize health and longevity. Please note: we do not treat pediatric or elderly patients with complex or cognitive conditions, as our focus remains on primary and secondary prevention.
Position Overview
We are seeking an International Medical Graduate (IMG) to join our team part-time. The IMG will participate in supervised patient care, with the opportunity to gradually gain autonomy under the guidance of the supervising Nurse Practitioner. Prior Canadian experience is required--clinical training in will be provided. Experience and/or certification in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is considered a strong asset.
Clinical Responsibilities
(including but not limited to):
Conduct virtual consultations: comprehensive and focused health assessments, promotion of wellness and disease prevention, ordering of labs and diagnostics
Support continuity of care: referrals to specialists or external services, follow-up appointments, and updates to patient records
Perform administrative clinical duties: respond to patient phone calls and emails, communicate with pharmacists, counsel patients on care plans, and uphold clinic protocols and safety policies
Non-Clinical Responsibilities
(including but not limited to):
Assist in evaluating and implementing best practices in care delivery
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of patient outcomes using evidence-based approaches
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance assessments
Support the development and review of clinic policies and procedures
Qualifications
Completion of a recognized international medical degree or equivalent training and experience
Must be a Canadian citizen and reside in Ontario

Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Willingness to learn and effectively use the Accuro EMR system
Satisfactory professional references and a clear criminal background check required
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation ranges from
$20 to $30 per consult
based on experience and responsibilities
