As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager enthusiastic experienced Welder A to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills in manufacturing.
SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Group Leader of the department. The incumbent ensures that the product is welded to process, quality & required efficiency levels.
This is a unionized position - Subject to assessment of skills and qualifications by Active following 90 working days.
The pay rate is $25.71/h - Shift Premium where applicable.
We have various vacancies - Shifts may vary.
VACANCIES: 3 Day Shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm)
ROLE:

• Performs the running of the equipment set up by others or by themselves
• Performs the running of the equipment set up by others or by himself
• Performs required quality checks to ensure the product complies and in the specification
• Notifies Group Leader and/or Supervisor(s) of product defects or other serious occurrences
• Documents and records all necessary information/data as per work cards and other company requirements
• Performs equipment operational checks
• Performs finish/cosmetic welds on the product show surface
• Performs proper housekeeping, clean-up and 5 S requirements
• Performs all duties according to safety standards and company policies
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

DESIRED SKILLS:
Essential

• Able to weld all B-category and four A-category test welds
• 3+ years of MIG welding experience
• Capable of finishing/cosmetic welding
• Able to set up and maintain own equipment
• Blueprint reading
• Good mathematical skills

Preferred

• TIG & stainless steel experience is an asset
• Pressure vessel MIG welding would be an asset
• Computer literate
• Blueprint reading

REQUIREMENTS:

• Min. grade 12 or equivalent education
• Must pass both written and practical weld test
• Fluent in English
