Facility: Brentwood Care Centre Department: CARE SERVICES Position: Health Care Aide Status: Part Time, Temporary This line is temporary for an undetermined period of time Line#/Code (subject to change): SASD03 FTE: 0.7 (0730-1330) Rate of Pay: Per Collective Agreement
POSITION SUMMARY: The Health Care Aide (under the direction and supervision of the Staff Nurse and Unit Manager) is responsible for the provision of personal care to facility customers, i.e. residents, guests, staff. Utilizes the resident\xe2\x80\x99s care plan to provide individualized care. Promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual well being of residents and families. Complies with policies, procedures and work routines. Ensures a safe and clean work environment. Works in partnership with other individuals and departments to promote customer service for residents, guests, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Brings a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Health Care Aide certificate as per Alberta provincial curriculum and active enrolment in the provincial HCA Directory.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for facility customers. i.e. residents, guests, and staff.
- Demonstrates effective communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to function as an effective team member with other staff, residents, families, and the public.
