INTERNAL / EXTERNAL POSTING: YOUTH WORKER



Cameray Child and Family Services is currently seeking a Casual Youth Worker for our Assisting Children with the Transition to high school (ACTS) Program located in Burnaby. The Youth Worker assists ACTS program staff with delivering service to grade 4 to 7 elementary school students in various schools in Burnaby intended to support successful transition to secondary school. This position requires union membership with the Health Sciences Association of BC (HSABC).




Hours of Work

: Casual on call,

in various Burnaby Elementary Schools





Potential shifts are typically 2:00- 6:00pm Monday to Friday during the school year


Salary: $24.97 per hour



Expected Start date: Early to Mid February 2026



Key Responsibilities:




Assists in the planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of community based recreational and social activities to meet student needs i.e. Homework Clubs. Encourages and facilitates student participation in activities, provides guidance and instruction where necessary. Helps program participants with skill-building (life skills and social skills) and models appropriate behaviour. Helps encourage the safety of program participants. Responds to emergencies in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Assists in maintaining records and procedure reports. Help coordinate mentors for activities. Performs other related duties as required.




Education/Experience Requirements




A minimum of one year of post-secondary training in recreation or a related field. A minimum of six months recent related experience working with children and youth. Satisfactory criminal record check for working with vulnerable populations.
