Manpower is currently seeking an Internal Controls Analyst for a short-term contract opportunity with a major petro-chemical client located in Calgary, AB.

What will you be doing?

• Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships within the Compliance & Controls team as well as stakeholders that impact internal controls and financial reporting

• Leverage people skills and expertise in internal controls to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization

• Apply critical thinking skills to analyze control testing issues / exceptions (e.g., assess significance and reporting requirements, perform root cause analysis, etc.) then independently develop recommendations and facilitate / monitor remediation of control deficiencies

• Perform miscellaneous projects as assigned

What will you bring?

• University/college graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business, or IT or equivalent with 8+ years of direct relevant experience

• Accounting firm and/or corporate internal audit function experience focused on SOX, ICFR, and internal control design and operations

• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of processes, risks, and controls principles

• Demonstrated diplomacy, interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills with ability to speak persuasively and defend complex positions effectively

• Ability to work in a team environment but also be self-motivated and able to work independently on assignments with limited supervision

• Ability to manage time and activities to complete tasks as required and to monitor personal performance against pre-determined measures
