Job Description


Purpose of Role: This position manages and executes strategic internal business communications for the North America business in line with our Purpose, Five Principles and the Canadian agenda for both Mars Wrigley and Mars overall. The role is responsible for developing internal communications strategies that are aligned with business objectives and that foster a two-way communications process between both managers and Associates, and leadership and Associates. These activities will shape what Associates know and believe about the company, will be designed to encourage positive behavior changes and foster engagement to create an even greater place to work. What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors degree in Communication Studies, Business or related field
  • 5+ years in a Communications or Corporate Affairs capacity
  • Strong composure, presentation skills and professional polish.
  • Organizational agility.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of management, as well as a variety of positions and personalities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and handle sensitive, confidential information.
  • Understanding of internal communications practices, including two-way channels and pull and push methods of communication.
  • Must be able to speech write, create intranet content and be a good storyteller.
  • Must be able to translate business objectives to a basic language all Associates can understand.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop internal communications strategies that drive continuous improvement of the company culture with clear and consistent communications.
  • Align Associates with/and foster understanding of company vision and corporate objectives using our Purpose, Five Principles and Mars Canada workplace and citizenship reputation.
  • Co-create business communications, strategy and engagement for Mars Wrigley with the Internal Communications Director, Inclusion and Diversity team inclusive of occasional support for the Mars Wrigley ARGs, and People & Organization team.
  • Working with members of the Leadership Team to develop and deliver communications to all North American Associates - with a primary focus on Canada - through multiple channels (Town Halls, videos, executive announcements, change communications, etc.).
  • Lead our Town Halls, Periodic Meetings and Seasonal webcasts by creating agendas, partnering with speakers on content, editing & consolidating presentations, and implementing post-event surveys.
  • In collaboration with external communications, PR and media relations, ensure that the company’s messages and communications are consistent and timely for all key audiences.
  • Assist the Director of Internal Communications on continuously measuring and evaluating the success and impact of internal communications initiatives.
  • Build tools, framework, and uncover new channels needed to accommodate organizational needs (apps, podcasts, videos).
  • Helping scripting support in collaboration with our head of Creative Services.
  • Continuously story-mine across our offices, sales teams and factories to share successes and stories with all Associates and our External team.
