The company has an opening at its sterile injectable manufacturing facility in Cambridge, Ontario for an Internal Communications Manager.

Job Summary

The Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing communications strategies and tactics for Septodont in North America. As a member of the Corporate Communications team, the Internal Communications Manager is part of a global function and team. The position reports to the Senior Global Internal Communications Manager based in Paris, France, and is member of team of 5 communication professionals.

The individual will work with the Senior Global Internal Communications Manager and with local leaders to ensure Septodont employees in North America receive communications when, where, and how they need it. Our Internal Communications vision is for all of our employees to receive information that is relevant to them in an organized, consistent, engaging and timely manner via channels that are easy to access, search, and read. We have a passion for writing and storytelling. We also think that internal communications is a key driver to enhance the employee experience.

The role provides an opportunity to develop engaging content and support channel development that will help the company communicate key business initiatives and help ensure positive employee engagement. The Internal Communications Manager will also provide communications counsel to local leaders to help them effectively engage with employees and ensure that all messaging reinforces our culture and that we have consistent, intentional themes threaded throughout communications.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and own internal communications plan and roadmap that contribute to enhancing employee engagement and experience.
  • Develop compelling content within a regular cadence that explains our strategy and helps every employee understand their role and contribution to the company.
  • Ensure the timely communication of news and information to employees, and continuously evolve and maintain internal communication tools, processes and channels (emails, employee intranet, newsletters, digital signage, videos, etc.).
  • Manage and run employee events (manager meetings, town halls, lunch & learns, Christmas party, etc.) and drive post-event sentiment engagement to determine and implement actions needed to ensure employee feedback is incorporated.
  • Develop communication plans for major change initiatives and engagement campaigns.
  • Develop and execute leadership communications strategies, in alignment with the global communication strategy.
  • Contribute to global internal communications key projects and campaigns, including employer branding initiatives.
  • Act as communications partner to local Human Resources, Operations and Transformation teams
  • Collaborate and partner with the Employee Communications Committee (ECC) at the Cambridge site regarding events and feedback on overall communications.
  • Provide issues management and crisis communications support when needed.
  • Track and report content effectiveness metrics to internal stakeholders, as well as continually monitor, analyze and tune messaging to maximize impact.
  • Recommend and develop new communication tools, processes, etc., based on best practice knowledge.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Post-Secondary degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or other related field
  • Master\'s Degree in Communication or Master\'s Degree in HR with a communication specialization is an asset.
Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a communications role, preferably internal communications.
  • Fluent in French is an asset.
  • A passion for internal communications and knowledge of employee engagement drivers and trends.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including editing and copywriting.
  • A knack for storytelling, with experience developing creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challenges.
  • Strong experience in internal events management and ability to leverage those to enhance the employee experience.
  • Competency in Office 365 (including SharePoint and Teams), Adobe Acrobat and Social Media (LinkedIn). Video production and editing is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams and functions.
  • Previous experience in employer branding is a plus.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and attention to detail, able to set own priorities, and work under tight deadline pressure.
  • A strategic mindset who will anticipate the needs of partners and work toward the big picture.
  • Ability to pivot quickly and move forward in ambiguous situations.
  • Adaptable and humble, willing to take on projects big and small.
