The Automotive and Industrial Group at Shawcor with DSG -Canusa and Shawflex brands is a leading global manufacturer of heat shrinkable tubing, electrical cable, cable accessories and related equipment. The student will be responsible in supporting product development activities through material sample preparation and testing, coordinating and running production trials, working with outside testing laboratories, supporting regulatory compliance activities and supporting product performance troubleshooting activities.

: Assisting a Product Development Specialist to:

• Develop new products including novel polymeric materials formulations and product configurations in heat shrink tubing and wire and cable applications
• Mix formulations and prepare samples for test
• Test products for various physical, chemical and electrical characteristics
• Analyze product installation and application capability
• Coordinate and run production trials under the guidance of senior team members
• Support continuous improvement activities
• Contribute to the preparation of reports to document performance capabilities for customers
• Assess materials composition for regulatory compliance

Qualifications:

• Completed 2nd or 3rd year of Materials, Chemical or Industrial Engineering
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, forward thinking
• Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques
• Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
• Fast learner & ability to both lead and work within a team
• Leader will to take on a \xe2\x80\x9chands-on\xe2\x80\x9d approach
• Positive attitude, goal driven, team player
