Job Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the Intern will get a broad overview of the Harlequin brand publishing and marketing efforts and the various roles within marketing. The Intern will gain experience in a variety of areas within brand marketing, book marketing, content marketing, digital advertising, public relations and product management. The Intern will focus in these areas:

Responsibilities

The Intern will focus in these areas:

Brand Marketing

  • Metadata \xe2\x80\x93 aid in the optimization and execution of various metadata initiatives
  • Promotion \xe2\x80\x93 aid in the execution of seasonal and trending theme activity
  • Trend Investigation \xe2\x80\x93 aid in the research and documentation of industry and sales trends
Publishing/Product Management
  • Assist with tasks such as ISBN assignments, digital feed QCs, briefing shell development, scheduling, sales materials, cover sign off, etc.
Content Marketing & Digital Advertising:
  • Asset Creation Coordination: Ads, Author Tool Kits, Organic placements, Amazon A+ images, Animated Covers, Author Digital Sale Creative
  • Monthly photoshoot content curation and coordination for in-house and freelance social content creation
  • Monthly New Release Blog Post assistance
Public Relations:
  • Net Galley content assistance, tracking and approvals
  • Review submission support and execution
Qualifications
  • Completion of university or college education or possess equivalent/relevant work experience in the areas of marketing, communications or publishing. Applicants must be eligible to work and be paid in Canada
  • Comfort with key PC software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe)
  • Calm under pressure, with the ability to take initiative, and prioritize multiple projects under tight timelines
  • Excellent project management, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills a must
