Help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career with Nutrien.This position is for a 2024 Fall InternshipThis position is an exciting opportunity in our Environmental Management department and will provide valuable work experience in a leading agricultural company. This is a fall internship which will last approximately 16 weeks.Reporting to the Director, Environmental Footprint, this position will support the team in delivering on its core function and multiple initiatives. The Environmental Footprint team is responsible for the process of quantifying, validating, and reporting of Nutrien\'s global environmental footprint. This encompasses emissions, energy, water and waste, and includes the development and review of communications and content for the annual report, global sustainability report and multiple external frameworks like Climate Disclosure Project (CDP). The team is also leading multiple initiatives including the quantification of Nutrien\'s Scope 3 GHG emissions, development of a product lifecycle assessment (LCA) program, and replacement of our environmental database. Core to achieving success is extensive collaboration with the operating business units and multiple corporate functions, including Sustainability, Finance, and Information Technology.This role will directly support the collection and analysis of Nutrien\'s environmental data, development and delivery of environmental information and communication materials, and implementation and administration of environmental initiatives.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Environmental Management team with various functions predominantly related to Nutrien\'s environmental footprint, and operations.
  • Support a variety of environmental initiatives with research, analysis, communication and coordination.
  • Support collection, consolidation, quantification, and validation of Nutrien\'s global environmental footprint data (emissions, energy, water, waste).
  • Develop communications and responses to internal and external ESG information requests.
  • Help Nutrien meet its environmental commitments by assisting with implementation and maintenance of programs, procedures, and policies.
Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite. Experience with data management systems and/or tools (SAP, HANA, Power Query) considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and willingness to take on a variety of projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with environmental reporting regulations, frameworks or protocols (e.g. GHG Protocol) would be considered an asset.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a university degree in Environmental Sciences or other applicable degree program
