Here's how we work:

Arcadis IBI Group's Vancouver office is searching for an Intern Architect to join its Residential High-Rise (Living+) Studio. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on various projects from design phase through to construction. To be successful in this role it requires strong design and working drawing skills.

Our teams are currently working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic and will be for the foreseeable future. We are following the provincial procedures before considering returning to the office. On a weekly basis, managers have touch base meetings with their teams to discuss the progress of projects or any issues that they have encountered. We continue to emphasize wellness for all our team members and have added to our comprehensive list of benefits to support this further

Most of the things you'll work on:

  • Coordinate sub-consultants engineers and prepare technical working drawings;
  • Work on multiple projects at the same time and lead small -intermediate size teams to complete each project;
  • Work with clients and user groups to develop concepts during schematic design and design development meetings;
  • Organize and lead user group and client stakeholder meetings;
  • Prepare meeting minutes and project schedules.
Qualifications

You'll need to have:
  • Master's degree in Architecture and/or a recognized Institution by the AIBC;
  • 3-4 years related experience in multi-family or multi-use projects
  • Must be registered with the AIBC, or eligible to be registered in the province of British Columbia;
  • Substantial experience in design development and working drawing phases
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures;
  • Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done;
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skills;
  • Proficient in Revit and SketchUp

We are currently in a work from home model during COVID-19, but when we do return to the office we are located at 1285 West Pender Street, the IBI Group Vancouver office is in the historic and architecturally significant Evergreen Building in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The office is public transit and cyclist-friendly with the SkyTrain just an 8-minute walk away and a secure Arcadis IBI Group bike room on the first floor.
