LDA is seeking a self-motivated, hard-working individual as a full-time Structural Engineer. As a Structural Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians on a wide variety of structural engineering projects for public and private sector clients. Key Responsibilities:



Prepare and oversee structural engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design reports. Assist with the creation of accurate and detailed structural Contract Documents. Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing quality and completeness. Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, engineers-in-training, and technologists. Provide support for construction administration tasks including site reviews, review and issuance of change orders, clarifications and RFIs. Be accountable for schedule and efficiency. Track project hours and stay within designated budgets. Project management, including budget and schedule tracking, assignment of resources. Establish and promote client relationships.

Qualifications, Experience, Education:



Recognized degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited college or university. Registered and licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Manitoba. Minimum 5 years as a Professional Engineer with structural engineering consulting experience in Manitoba. Knowledge of Manitoba Building Code/National Building Code of Canada and Canadian engineering standards. Knowledge of structural systems and detailing of structural components and assemblies. Experience with RISA 3D or similar structural analysis software. Ability to perform with minimal supervision and balance the demands of working on multiple projects at any given time. Valid Class 5 driver's license. Ability to travel within Canada for project work as required (typically 1-5 days). Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Construction experience is considered an asset. Experience in the use of AutoCAD and/or Revit is considered an asset. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role considered an asset.

Working Environment:



In-person work location. 37.5 standard work week (8:30am - 5:00pm) plus overtime as required to meet project deadlines. Modified working hours in the summer (May - September): 8:00am - 5:15pm Monday-Thursday, 8:00am - 12:30pm Friday. Highly collaborative and supportive open office environment.
