Your Opportunity
As a rapidly expanding firm, we are looking to fill the position of Structural Engineer - EIT. This position is for a Structural Engineering with at least 1 to 3 years of timber experience with a desire to build your career with a fast growing company that invests in their people. Responsibilities
This position is accountable for applying intensive, complex and diversified knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields, making independent decisions to solve structural engineering problems, resolving questions and planning and coordinating work.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment.
Provide engineering technical support to the field during construction, including responding to RFIs from
Developing preliminary design and engineering specifications
Establish design criteria related to area of assignment, based upon specified contractual requirements
Handle multiple diverse assignments successfully in a consulting firm environment
Working with CAD software such as AutoCAD, WoodWorks, etc...
Comfortable in working to meet tight deadlines.
Education and Qualifications
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Civil Engineering
1 to 3 years of Timber Experience Preferred
Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia
Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
Technical competence and strong attention to detail
A strong technical capability and the ability to work in a team environment
Experience working with BC Building Codes and City Bylaws
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
