Your Opportunity
We have an immediate opportunity for a unique position as an Intermediate/Senior Field Supervisor to manage the construction observation of various regional construction projects in Manitoba and Northwest Ontario. The Candidate will be required to work in locations outside of major urban centers which may require travel and accommodation/meals provided by Stantec at these locations.
This relatively autonomous position will require the ability to interpret technical documents, provide technical direction and guidance to the Contractor, coordinate between technical resources, and undertake resident and non-resident contract administration duties.
Your Key Responsibilities
Regularly conduct on-site project check-ins to observe contractor activities and general conformance to contract documents.
Understand and direct the contractor on requirements and details of contract drawings and specifications.
Confirm quantities, prepare progress payment recommendations, develop progress reports, coordinate administrative documents (SI\'s, RFI\'s, Shop Drawings, PCN\'s, CO\'s, etc.) and maintain written and photographic documentation and records.
Participate in construction progress meetings.
Communicate with the Engineering team, contractors, field staff, owners, members of the public and other stakeholders.
Identify and act on contractual or regulatory infractions.
Resolution of construction issues with the assistance of the Contract Administrator / Project Manager.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of standard engineering and construction principles, practices, and techniques is required.
Knowledge of construction products, materials, and equipment is required.
Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations for construction projects. Is required.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications is required.
Experience with resident and non-resident contract administration for both civil and/or building related projects.
Education and Experience
Civil or Construction Engineering Technology / Technician diploma with a minimum of 10 years preferred.
Relevant construction inspection experience in Manitoba would be considered an asset.
