Your cover letter must demonstrate:

Your resume should show us:
  • AScT or P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration with either ASTTBC or EGBC
  • 5+ years' experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Auto Turn, Civil 3D
  • Project lifecycle and deliverable requirements for multi-discipline transportation projects experience
  • Knowledge of TAC design guidelines
Bonus points for:
  • Experience on BC Ministry of Transportation projects
  • Knowledge of BC Supplement design guidelines, BC Ministry Construction Specifications and MMCD standards
  • Construction experience
  • This position is open to any of our BC offices, but our preferred office locations are Langley or Fernie
A Little More About the Role
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be exposed to the entire project lifecycle - from planning to concept through detailed design, tender, and construction services.
  • Fulfill the role of Transportation Designer through the completion of highway and roadway designs for various types of rural and urban transportation projects of all sizes, using Civil 3D and AutoCAD software
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline project teams and liaison with internal ISL disciplines as well as external sub-consultants to address complex project problems and provide comprehensive project solutions
  • Provide engineering design solutions to address project issues and constraints to achieve client project objectives
  • Produce project construction cost estimates, risk registers, contract documents and specifications
  • Review third party designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with project as a whole
  • Document preparation including memo's, reports, plans, briefing materials and guidelines
  • Support Design Manager on liaison with clients and project management tracking
  • Provide design review during construction through to completion of post-construction drawing records and documentation
  • Develop, guide and mentor staff
  • Work in accordance with Quality Management processes, ensure technical quality of deliverables, and ensure schedule milestones are achieved
  • Present project successes at conferences as well as attend industry technical committees
