Our client, one of North America\'s leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico has an immediate need for two (2) Intermediate Regulatory Analysts. This is a contract position for one (1) year located in Calgary, Alberta.

Description

The Regulatory Analyst will be the primary regulatory service provider for multiple large construction spreads for a large-scale Natural Gas Project.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Developing, reviewing, and submitting applications and condition compliance filings with regulators.
  • Develop formal responses to BC Energy Regulator (BCER) and BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) regulatory inspections.
  • Review of compliance packages and construction variances against regulatory requirements.
  • Provide team members advice/guidance based on legislative, regulation and permit condition interpretation questions from project team members.
  • Develop regulatory strategies in consultation with Project team members.
  • Regularly interact with the construction team through meetings and discussions to identify regulatory issues.
  • Manage new regulatory applications and review changes to existing regulations.
  • Manage and develop relationships with regulators.
  • Drafting Regulatory submissions, facilitating the internal Senior Review process, submitting to the Regulator, and then responding to additional questions.
  • Implementing corporate regulatory strategies and policies
  • Researching regulatory and compliance questions.
  • Acting as the interface, at the working level, between the company and Regulators.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience managing regulatory applications and submissions, preference given to experience working with the BC Energy Regulator (BCER), the BC Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) and for experience permitting and managing condition compliance for linear Projects in BC.
  • Undergraduate degree in social sciences, legal, environmental studies, engineering or another applicable pipeline or compliance-related field. Preference also given for a working understanding of BC regulations governing resource development.
  • Good technical writing background is required, both in drafting new documents and reviewing/proofreading existing documents for content.
  • Familiarity with current Indigenous issues related to resource development in BC.
  • Able to prioritize and manage several competing issues simultaneously in a quickly evolving work environment.
  • Capable of participating in large group meetings to communicate regulatory requirements.
  • Able to learn quickly and then employ that knowledge to make concise recommendations.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-directed worker who is also comfortable working independently on task.
Additional Information:
  • Able to travel periodically as required.
  • At times, the position may require additional work outside normal working hours and/or weekends and holidays.
