Ontario Data Platform (ODP)
--a modern enterprise ecosystem enabling data ingestion, storage, processing, governance, analytics, and AI-driven insights. The ODP will serve internal government clusters and ministries, with plans to extend services to external agencies in the future.
We are seeking a
Senior IT Enterprise Strategist
with deep experience in
Data & AI strategy, enterprise architecture, and transformation leadership
to help shape and operationalize ODP's strategic direction. The successful candidate will lead the development of enterprise data and AI strategies, roadmaps, and operational processes; support executive decision-making; and foster alignment across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the
development of ODP's technology strategy
in alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
Define and execute
strategy execution plans and ODP roadmaps
, ensuring measurable progress toward transformation goals.
Develop and refine
ODP operational and development processes
supporting scalability, performance, and governance.
Evangelize strategy and implementation plans
across multiple government clusters and ministries to secure executive and stakeholder buy-in.
Partner with
Enterprise Data Stewardship
and IT leadership teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution consistency.
Collaborate with IT clusters and ministries
to drive integration and adoption of ODP capabilities.
Develop and deliver
strategic and tactical communications
, including executive presentations, briefing notes, and collateral.
Contribute to
enterprise and solution architecture documentation
, management, and financial artifacts.
Lead and participate in
program and project management activities
related to ODP initiatives.
Develop and manage
RFPs/RFSs
to support the growth of ODP's technical and operational capabilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 15 years
of experience in
Data & AI strategy and execution
within large, multi-stakeholder organizations.
Proven experience in
Enterprise Architecture
development and implementation.
Demonstrated experience with
Data & AI Governance
frameworks, processes, and technologies.
Applied expertise with
modern cloud data technologies
, including
Azure
and
Databricks
.
Strong understanding of
Application and Technology Architecture
, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
Experience developing and operationalizing
IT strategies
aligned with organizational vision and business capabilities.
Demonstrated
strategic and transformational thinking
, with a focus on optimizing application landscapes and reducing redundancy and cost.
Excellent
stakeholder engagement
, communication, and influencing skills.
Advanced
analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making
capabilities.
Strong
team leadership
and collaboration skills in Agile and traditional environments.
PMP certification
and proven experience managing large-scale transformation programs.
Desirable Qualifications
TOGAF certification
or equivalent enterprise architecture credentials.
Experience with
AI and Machine Learning tools and frameworks
.
Knowledge of the
Government of Ontario's organizational structure and business processes
.
Experience developing
business cases, procurement strategies, and executive communications
.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in
Agile, data-driven, and fast-paced environments
.
Strong presentation, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: From $60.00 per hour
