INTERMEDIATE PIPING DESIGNER

The role of the Intermediate Piping Designer is to support the overall growth and ongoing success of Lanmark through the integration of engineering, construction, drafting, and reception resources to produce an overall engineering package for use by the construction group. Job Responsibilities: The Intermediate Piping Designer is responsible for coordination of projects assigned to the Drafting Team as well as being one of the primary drafters in the Drafting Team. The Intermediate Piping Designer fulfills a number of responsibilities, completes tasks, and generates products that are necessary for the successful completion of the project.

• Coordination of Projects assigned to Drafting Team:
  • Ensure that projects assigned are completed on time. Ensure that tasks are being performed by a drafter with the right talent to complete the task.
  • Drafting Group philosophy: tasks should be assigned to push the learning of the person performing it. Intermediate Drafters should not be doing Junior Drafter\xe2\x80\x99s tasks.
• Produce Complete Drawing Packages Based on Engineering feed stock:
  • With the use of information provided from Engineering, the designer should be able to design and layout drawing packages for a multitude of different facilities to match the vision provided by Engineering.
• As-Building:
  • As-building of completed projects from QC sketches and photos to reflect the completed project after construction.
  • Lead an as-building team on field trips to high level facilities.
• Provide Estimates:
  • The designer should be able to complete and be responsible for estimates of assigned tasks.
• Provide Mentoring:
  • The designer will be responsible for mentoring all levels drafters within the drafting department.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 \xe2\x80\x93 10 years industry experience is required.
• Post- Secondary Design Drafting Diploma preferred
  • Two year program spanning both design principles and good drafting procedures for relaying of a completed piping design and construction package. The program should leave the student with a complete understanding in both AutoCAD and Cadworx (3-D modeling) (The EDDT program from SAIT or NAIT are examples)
• Drafting Process Piping Certificate
  • A program geared towards piping that provides a strong foundation for relaying a piping design through the use of drawings. The program should leave the student with a complete understanding of AutoCAD and Cadworx.
