Intermediate Piping Designer

to support the design and development of piping systems across various projects. This role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction and commissioning, ensuring high-quality deliverables and design integrity.

Key Responsibilities



Prepare piping drawings including PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans, equipment layouts, general arrangements, and isometric drawings using 2D/3D CAD software. Develop piping deliverables such as but not limited to line designation tables (LDT), specialty item lists, pipe support details, and bills of material/material takeoffs. Manage a large volume of deliverables efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy. Interface and collaborate with other engineering and design disciplines. Execute both 2D and 3D CAD design with proficiency. Support multiple projects through all phases--from concept to detailed design, fabrication, and commissioning. Review vendor equipment drawings and cross-discipline drawings as part of squad checks. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, ensuring quality and consistency. Ensure all issued deliverables meet project and corporate standards. Conduct site visits, field reviews, and vendor shop inspections as required. Work effectively under the supervision and guidance of a project lead.

Qualifications



5-10 years of relevant piping design experience. Strong knowledge of piping design principles and plant layout. Proficiency with one or more of the following: AutoPlant 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D and CADWorx 3D. Preference given to candidates with fabrication and brownfield experience. Field or construction exposure considered an asset. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective team player with the ability to work independently when required. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Legally entitled to work in Canada (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit).
