Intermediate Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities:



Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles Provide technical support to internal and external customers Ensure all relevant regulatory and client requirements are met Ensure all initiatives and processes are in conformance with the Company's established policies and corporate priorities Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting the design Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements Specify system components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications Commission customized products and systems in house and at customer facilities Maintain complete confidentiality pertaining to any company business Comply with established rules, procedures and Health & Safety Policy mandates and report any non-compliance Familiarize and adhere to all company policies as detailed in the Company Policy Manual Other tasks, projects and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Engineering Manager

Duties Include:



Develop, evaluate and implement innovative technical solutions Provide technical advice to in-house and external clients Participate directly in the design and development of technical projects Participate directly in the engineering work of the department Maintain accurate records and files according to Company standards Complete tasks on time and within budget or notify the Engineering Manager of an alternative plan Work additional hours as necessary and with the approval of the Engineering Manager, to complete a job within the project timeline

Requirements



Post-secondary college diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent Minimum 2 years' experience as a Designer in a multi discipline engineering environment Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical design and its application Sound knowledge of detailing practices Strong planning, organizational and time management skills Proficient in SolidWorks software and MS Office Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills Able to handle multiple projects and activities simultaneously Able to work independently or in a team environment Demonstrate a high level of integrity and trust Demonstrate composure under pressure Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Valid driver's license Ability to use and wear personal protective equipment as required
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
