Bluestar Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM company specializing in oil and gas and renewables projects. We are a group of professionals who form a fully integrated multi-disciplinary organization backed by many years of experience.

We are seeking someone eager to continue their career with our fast-paced, growing company and looking to fill the role of

Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Technologist.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create instrument data sheets and instrument indexes. Provide instrument sizing and installation requirements in collaboration with other disciplines (mechanical, process). Create material requisition packages. Review vendor packages and documentation. Develop and review P&ID's, process narratives, and shut down keys. Participation in HAZOP as required. Make recommendations for the best and most economical instrument/control system based on the clients need, specifications, and industry standards. Provide cost estimates for projects in conjunction with other disciplines. Participate in client meetings to assess project needs. Act as a point of contact for other disciplines with respect to anything instrumentation related.

Requirements:

Instrumentation Technology diploma is required. 3+ years of relevant experience within an EPCM setting. Registration with ASET or APEGA is required. Experience using SmartPlant would be considered an asset. Personable and able to work with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment. Ability to adjust to change and multitask in a fast-paced setting. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
