Intermediate Designer

Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:



The Intermediate designer works with the design team within the engineering department. Within the department the Intermediate Desi will take direction from the Deign Lead on project requirements and tasks. The Designer will produce 3D and 2D models of various components to assist the design team in completion of projects. The design requirements will also include BOM Management to ensure all components required are itemized correctly The Intermediate designer will also be a key contributor in the ECR/ECN updating files in a timely manner and ensuring accurate document con within the network.

The Designer works closely with the rest of the design team to update standard Wilcox products.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Prepare engineering detailed drawings Utilizing Solidworks, design parts and assembly 3d models Create 2D part and assembly drawings for manufacturing. Maintain drawing database working within Solid works, Responsible for the management of vault drawing libraries, configuration and revision control and apply industry best practices, including upload of all drawings and/or models to MRP system Ensure accuracy of production drawing aligns with MRP part numbering series Maintain current database for chassis drawings and models from truck manufacturers Complete ECN's on designs as per change notice and update files Obtain solid model files and technical specifications for senior design team members as per requests Cross train and back up to Product Development Engineering Tech.

Self-starter and self-motivated Impeccable attention to detail Builds and maintains collaborative and constructive working relationships (internally and externally) Communicates effectively with all business partners Well-developed communications skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Solid business knowledge relating to the Work Truck Business Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals Knowledge of GD&T principles

Job Knowledge or Work Experience:



5+ years' experience in manufacturing industry Knowledge of all tools required (e.g. SolidWorks, PDM, Draftsite, project databases, CRM's and other tools that may be required.) Expert knowledge and understanding of all product lines Ability to listen and communicate concisely and effectively

Education:



Designations/license in technical trade an asset Engineering/Engineering Technologist degree preferred CAD training programs/Diploma

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:



Wears all required PPE as required Standard working schedule, day shift
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
