The intermediate data developer role is a key contributor and solution provider to our data practice. Join our growing team and expand our data platform and the data services we offer to our employees and Porter Airlines customers. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines, and provide well defined data integration interface specifications for internal and external systems following Data architecture guidance, Technology, and Data Management governance standards
• Conduct complex data analysis, interpret trends and patterns, report on results, and recommend solutions
• Analyze and combine raw data from different sources to expand and enhance the subject areas in the data warehouse
• Explore ways to enhance and improve data quality and reliability in the ODS, DW, and other enterprise data structures while implementing approved changes
• Provide data operations support services to business and technology groups, occasionally after hours and weekends where work will be required
• Maintain and support multiple projects while working with technology teams, project managers, and business groups. Become a trusted and knowledgeable partner
• Understand and when needed, document business processes and requirements to enable project data analysis and design activities
• Develop data test cases for business and data integration scenarios, and when needed, perform QA testing activities
• Prepare data for business data analysts and data scientists to support BI services and products, as well as predictive and perspective data modeling and ML algorithms in other business areas
• Administer Data Catalogs, Reference Data, and capture data lineage for data subject areas of responsibility
• Actively participate in Porter\xe2\x80\x99s Safety Management System (SMS), including the reporting of hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations. Understand, comply, and promote company safety policies

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar degree preferred
• Excellent knowledge of database design, data warehouse methodologies, and data integration techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills when communicating with business stakeholders, project teams, and project managers
• Experience with various SDLC methodologies and requirement gathering
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
• 3 to 5 years of experience developing data integration and/or ETL solutions
• 3 to 5 years of experience designing and developing big data or data warehouse solutions
• Strong SQL experience with various database systems
• Experience with AWS products and services including S3, RDS, Lambda, Redshift, Kinesis, Athena, EMR
• Experience using open source programming languages such as Python
• Experience in integrating software platforms using REST API framework
• Excellent SQL experience with cloud based database systems such as AWS Redshift
• Experience with Google products and services including Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Analytics
• Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• 
  3 + years of experience developing and maintaining data integration (ETL) processes using tools such as Matillion, Microsoft SSIS, or other open source products
• 3 + years of experience using SQL Server, RedShift, PostgreSQL, or similar databases
• 3 + years of experience using Python including writing and testing code, debugging programs, and integrating applications with third-party products
• 3 + years of experience integrating software platforms using REST APIs
• 3 + years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), especially Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, EMR, RDS, or other cloud services
• 3 + years of experience analyzing data using Google Sheets, Excel, Tableau
