About This Position

The candidate will be joining our dedicated team of engineers and scientists, collaborating with professionals from various disciplines and providing support to our clients in the mining and power & water industries. The successful candidate will embrace both office and site-work opportunities on domestic and international projects. They must be able to effectively work and communicate within multidisciplinary teams. Above all, we are looking for someone who is responsible and a good team player with a great attitude.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

Providing technical support to the design team including civil design, structural analysis, conceptual and detailed design drawings, and reporting. Prepare high-quality reports and present technical content to project team and clients. Using initiative and judgement, develop safe solutions including engineering designs, analyzing and resolving problems, and interpreting engineering specifications on projects and/or operations. Participating in site visits and inspections, which could include reviewing shop drawings, preparing field reports, and developing field instruction memos. Working and communicating effectively with teams of engineers, designers, and drafters.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Registered as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or eligible for registration. A Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in hydropower, dams, and/or mining infrastructure. Demonstrated experience in the structural design of hydraulic structures and related systems (e.g., dams and appurtenant works, intakes, spillways, penstocks/pipelines, pump stations, powerhouses). Proficiency with FE/structural analysis software such as ANSYS, Strand7, SAP2000 (or equivalent) is considered an asset. Strong skills in hand calculations and engineering fundamentals. Working knowledge of AutoCAD; experience coordinating with designers/drafters to produce clear and buildable drawings. Willingness and ability to travel for site work (domestic and international) and to work in field conditions as needed.
Pay and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this position is $88,000 to $120,000 CAD. Variations in salary offered will be dependent on relevant knowledge, experience, and skill level. KP's total compensation and benefits also include the following:
