Since 2013, our team has delivered hundreds of public sector municipal projects ranging from watermain, storm and sanitary sewer replacement and/or rehabilitation to full road reconstruction and urbanization. Our team has been at the forefront of current and innovative technologies that provide our clients the most feasible, cost sensitive and up to date solutions in the market.
Responsibilities:
The position will involve carrying out the following tasks, and includes supporting a team of engineers and technicians, to assist in their delivery:
Under the direction of Project Managers and Senior Engineers, prepare conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of municipal civil projects related to local and regional roadway reconstruction projects including roads, sewers, watermains, drainage
Apply CAD/Civil 3D knowledge to municipal engineering and road reconstruction projects from concept to completion
Assist in the completion of technical design reports and studies
Prepare Plan and Profile Drawings for watermains and sewers
Prepare Cross-Sections for Road Designs
Complete Quantity Take-Offs to assist in the preparation of contract documents and specifications for project tendering
Prepare/edit drawings and figures for inclusion in reports/submissions/briefs.
Review design standards to ensure drawings comply with municipal/other agency standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
The following qualifications, experience and skills are required:
5 to 7 years of relevant experience with an emphasis on roads and linear infrastructure
Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) and Member of OACETT is an asset, but not a requirement
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and a member of PEO is an asset, but not a requirement
Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads
Experience with watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, forcemain, grading plans and drainage design projects
Knowledge of municipal and provincial approval processes as well as relevant agency and industry standards, guideline and best practices (York Region, City of Toronto, City of Markham, City of Vaughan etc.)
Strong understanding of the municipal engineering environment in Ontario
Strong analytical skills
Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects concurrently
Ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time in order to deliver on time and within budget.
