About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified Intermediate Civil Engineer with a strong background in municipal infrastructure design and project management, specializing in water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, stormwater management, and site servicing. The successful candidate will work on land development, municipal servicing, and infrastructure renewal projects throughout Thunder Bay and surrounding regions, providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and municipal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support the planning, design, and implementation of site servicing, watermain, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents in accordance with Ontario provincial and Thunder Bay municipal requirements.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as SWMM, EPANET, or PCSWMM.
Review and stamp engineering designs and reports in your capacity as a licensed P.Eng in Ontario.
Liaise with clients, municipalities, conservation authorities, and utility companies throughout project lifecycles.
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams including planners, surveyors, and environmental specialists.
Perform construction administration tasks, including site visits, inspections, and responding to RFIs.
Ensure that all projects comply with the Ontario Building Code, Design Guidelines for Sewage Works, MECP regulations, and relevant municipal standards.
Mentor junior engineers and EITs and contribute to technical training within the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licensed and in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in water, wastewater, and site servicing design and project delivery in Ontario.
