Your Opportunity

BDO Canada is looking for an Intermediate Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll Services team and own the following responsibilities:

  • Perform data entry tasks, validate payroll information, and prepare reports as requested
  • Administer hourly and salary payroll accurately and ensure timely payment to employees
  • Process government remittances, statutory and non-statutory deductions (such as EI, CPP, and EHT) for each pay period
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records as required by federal and provincial governing bodies
  • Prepare termination packages, including Record of Employment (ROEs), as well as year-end reports such as T4 slips
  • Stay updated with relevant payroll regulations and ensure compliance with federal and provincial laws

Your experience and education
  • Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, data entry, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and systems,
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to consistently meet payroll deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of federal and provincial payroll regulations and best practices
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
