About the Role Reporting to the Senior Aquatics Specialist, the Intermediate Aquatics Biologist is responsible for supporting the delivery of aquatics-related services for clients and Ensero projects. This role will also support business development and the development of environmental assessments and regulatory applications support for various clients and projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the delivery of aquatics-related services for clients, including working with other team members to collect, manage and interpret data for use in supporting environmental assessment and regulatory applications and application review processes.
  • Analyzes and interprets environmental data.
  • Conducts summary reporting and technical reporting for internal and external (e.g. regulatory applications) requirements, and generally supports the development of environmental assessment and regulatory applications.
  • Collects environmental data, including the sampling of various media (aquatic resources, benthic, surface water, etc.), including maintaining custody of environmental samples and installing and/or maintaining monitoring instrumentation.
  • Leads business development efforts including engaging with potential and current clients, supporting proposal efforts and developing strategies for new opportunities.
  • Provides support for technical deliverables and programs in area(s) of expertise.
  • Leads special projects that support the broad-based needs of a rapidly expanding company.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities for aquatics and junior staff throughout Ensero.
  • Supports risk analysis with project management.
  • Monitors and promotes environmental health and worker safety.
  • All other duties as required.
About You
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related science (biology, water resources, etc.).
  • Canadian Aquatic Biomonitoring Network certification is considered an asset.
  • 7+ years relevant experience in mining or environmental consulting with demonstrated success in aquatic-related services.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
