Bear Tracks Environmental Services (2015) Ltd. is seeking a permanent intermediate wildlife biologist to join our fast-growing team in Lethbridge, AB.Founded as a biological consulting firm in 2006, Bear Tracks' experience portfolio has since grown to include an array of environmental consulting services, allowing us to meet the various needs of our industry and government clientele.Wanting to be part of a vibrant team is a must. We take our work seriously, but fully understand that people have lives outside of their job. We like to keep it light, while providing an amazing product for our clients. This may not work for all companies, but it's worked well for us.The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting field work and overseeing junior staff completing field level wildlife assessments. The ability to identify prairie and boreal wildlife species (by sight and sound) will be key to success in this position. You will be asked to work alone at times and this position may also require some early mornings and late nights. Weekly schedules are typically 5 and 2, however depending on the project, you may be expected to be away for multiple weeks at a time in the field.You must be familiar with survey/sampling protocols for various wildlife species, in addition to industry standard practices. Experience with GIS, vegetation assessments, wetland evaluations, soil assessment and environmental monitoring would also be an asset in this role.
