About the role



Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Systems, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing custom solutions, maintaining and troubleshooting both in-house and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications, creating and maintaining technical documentation, and engaging with stakeholders to ensure seamless application performance. They must have a strong programming background and a solid understanding of IT systems architecture. In addition, they must also be committed to delivering high-quality technical support that directly improves patient care and business operations.


Furthermore, this role also requires monitoring production systems to ensure optimal performance, identifying potential performance issues, and recommending improvements to enhance system stability and reliability.

Typical daily duties



The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following key duties.

Design, build and maintain web applications using Oracle Apex Work with business analysts, DBAs and other stakeholders to gather requirements Create forms, reports, dashboards, and interactive pages to meet business needs. Monitor and maintain existing applications, providing ongoing support and enhancements. Perform unit, integration and performance testing. Integrate APEX applications with Oracle databases, RESTful Web Services, and other systems. Create and maintain technical documentation and work standards. Combines creativity and logical thinking with a proactive approach to process improvement and professional development. Handle sensitive and personal information with honesty, discretion, and professionalism, maintaining confidentiality and trust. Deliver consistent, accurate, and thorough work by being service-focused, dependable, and disciplined in meeting the needs of clients, coworkers, and organizational goals.



What are we looking for?



We are looking for a self-motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong programming background and hands-on experience in Oracle APEX application development. The ideal candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, be able to quickly troubleshoot and resolve application-related technical issues and have a proven track record of aligning IT solutions with business needs. Since this role is integral in our chain of care, the right candidate must be a quick learner who takes pride in delivering outstanding services to clients while fostering positive relationships with colleagues. The additional requirements include;Experience designing, developing, and supporting Oracle APEX applications, including forms, reports, and web interfaces. Deep understanding of Oracle Database concepts, relational modeling, performance tuning, and proficiency in SQL or PL/SQL scripting. Hands-on experience supporting both custom-built and COTS/open-source applications. Proven ability to interpret technical documentation, analyze system architectures, and understand application topologies. Experience applying code changes and enhancements to existing Oracle applications and interfaces while following established change management processes. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide effective solutions. Experience with operating systems, including Windows and Linux, as well as managing real-time interfaces and integrations. Knowledge and experience working with Markup Languages such as XML and HTML. Experience working with integrated, enterprise-scale systems is required; Experience working in a healthcare setting would be considered an asset. Experience in leading troubleshooting sessions to determine root causes of issues and to report on problems within existing program code and data structures. Experience in supporting .Net-based applications is considered an asset.

The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a Degree in Computer Science or a related area of study plus 3 years of experience working as an Application Support Analyst or similar in an integrated support environment. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Ability to diagnose technical problems such as delays, malfunctions, and errors in order to determine the true cause of the problem and provide a (workable/reasonable/optimal) solution in a reasonable time frame. Ability to build cooperative working relationships with coworkers and clients to ensure credibility and confidence in services provided as well to build capacity in client's knowledge and ability to use and apply services.

Ability to design, test, implement or adapt existing systems/applications in an integrated environment, taking into account design alternatives, business requirements, system impacts and cost, resource and time constraints.
You must be willing to participate in the 24/7 on-call support strategy, which allows application support analysts to be available to respond to priority emergency service disruptions outside of regular business hours.
