TAG Hardware designs, engineers, and manufactures products for the closet and modular furniture industry. Our 70,000 square foot brand new manufacturing plant is located in South Surrey, British Columbia. The facility also houses our head office, powder coating machine, plastic injection molding machines, assembly work stations, and a warehouse, where we develop and produce our patented products for customers globally.
Our hardware solutions are featured in high-end homes and regularly showcased in leading design media. Since 2002, TAG Hardware has experienced steady growth, and we are now seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic team and support our Finance Team.
About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP):
Review, code, and post supplier invoices accurately and efficiently into the accounting system between inventory and non-inventory items.
Prepare and process supplier payments on a regular schedule, ensuring adherence to company policies and payment terms.
Maintain vendor files and resolve any invoice or payment discrepancies promptly.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Record customer payments and apply them accurately to corresponding invoices.
Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances and resolve discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
Prepare and distribute regular customer statements for overdue accounts.
Generate and analyze weekly AR aging reports to support collection efforts.
Payroll:
Administer bi-weekly payroll processing through ADP, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll legislation.
Prepare and post payroll journal entries and reconcile related accounts.
Maintain employee records and support payroll-related inquiries.
General Accounting and Reporting:
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Prepare Trial Balance Reviews
Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Reconcile and remit GST, PST, and other sales taxes in both Canada and the U.S. as required.
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
Prepare various financial and analytical reports to support management and month-end reporting requirements.
Assist with external audits and year-end working papers for external accountants.
Process Improvement and Collaboration:
Collaborate with the Finance Team to review and improve AP/AR and other accounting processes.
Support the implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Provide support for budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Other:
Perform other administrative and accounting-related duties as assigned to support the finance team.
About You - Education and Experience
Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2 or more years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to deal with a large number of transactions.
Experience using Syspro and ADP Workforce Now will be considered an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Working knowledge of PowerBI would be considered an asset.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
