:Accounting Specialist (Manufacturing) - Orillia, ON Location: Orillia, ON Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension or permanent opportunity) Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite Are you an experienced accounting professional with a strong technical background and a keen eye for detail? We have an exciting opportunity for a short-term Accounting Specialist with one of our valued clients, a well-established manufacturing company in Orillia, Ontario. This role is 100% onsite and will focus on reconciling and fixing accounting transactions from the past year to ensure the books are accurate and up to date. The position is expected to last approximately 3 months, with the potential to extend or even transition into a permanent position. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organization where your expertise will be key to streamlining financial processes and setting the foundation for long-term success.Requirements:Key Responsibilities: Reconcile financial transactions for the past year, ensuring the company's books are accurate and up to date. Collaborate with a team of 2 clerks to ensure proper accounting data entry and maintenance. Report directly to the General Manager and Director of Finance, providing support for financial reporting and ensuring compliance. Perform detailed accounting analysis to identify discrepancies and propose solutions for improving financial processes. Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and ensure financial records meet internal and external compliance standards. Upon completion of reconciliation, transition into a full-cycle staff accountant role, including handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly financial reporting. Qualifications: Proven experience in accounting, specifically with a focus on reconciliation and financial cleanup. Manufacturing experience or experience in a project-driven environment is a strong asset. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.) are a must. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex accounting issues. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage competing priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating closely with clerks, managers, and finance leadership. Effective communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders.
