This client of Robert Half is a vertically integrated real estate group that acquires, develops, constructs and manages commercial and residential real estate projects in Toronto. They are a quickly growing team looking for someone who will help in the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting of the group. The Intermediate Accountant will be involved with all aspects of accounting for the assigned projects including accounting of operations, reconciliations, internal reporting and year-end audits, among other responsibilities.\xc2\xb7 Reconcile bank accounts periodically for the companies from the assigned portfolio of projects.\xc2\xb7 Review and verify that the tenants are regularly billed in accordance with the signed leases\xc2\xb7 Review the Accounts Receivable reports received from the property managers\xc2\xb7 Review and code the invoices received from the vendors\xc2\xb7 Produce short-term cash flow forecast outlining the amounts owed\xc2\xb7 Prepare cheques to pay the invoices approved for payments\xc2\xb7 Prepare analysis and reports requested by lender\xc2\xb7 Calculate and record income (loss) allocation\xc2\xb7 Reconcile Partner\'s equity account balances\xc2\xb7 Check and reconcile intercompany accounts balances as of the end of the reporting period. Investigate the differences, prepare and post missing accounting records.\xc2\xb7 Prepare and provide the internal periodic financial reports upon management request\xc2\xb7 Prepare and post period-end closing entries\xc2\xb7 Provide external tax accountants with the periodic accounting records required for tax filings (HST returns, Partnership returns, Corporate Tax returns)\xc2\xb7 3+ years of experience in accounting/finance.\xc2\xb7 Studying towards an accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).\xc2\xb7 Previous experience in Real Estate Development, Construction or Property Management is a strong asset.\xc2\xb7 Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or Economics.\xc2\xb7 Experience working with Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel, Yardi knowledge would be an asset.\xc2\xb7 Entrepreneurial drive and ability to work independentlyRobert Half is the world\'s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
