About Our Client
As an Intermediate Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounting of the business. You will complete month-end closes, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis, and will work closely with the Controller on special projects, process improvements, and implementing changes for improved financial efficiency. You will also support other departments by problem-solving, analyzing, and reporting on financials for the retail, administrative, and warehouse divisions of the business.

About the Opportunity

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and regularly produce financial reports and account reconciliations
  • Ownership of bank related transactions including balancing store deposits to bank, executing payments, and preparing bank reconciliations
  • Complete month-end closing by preparing and entering, adjusting, and closing entries
  • Prepare and present month/year-end financial analysis and related reports
  • Assist with completing ad hoc reports and analysis from the Controller and departmental leaders
  • Support the Controller with determining and implementing workflow process improvements and special projects
  • Monitor and report on departmental budgets and work with departmental leaders to ensure budgets are maintained
  • Provide support and assist with problem-solving for any issues that arise related to accounts payable, sales, and inventory discrepancies
  • Ensure relevant internal control protocols are followed and accounting systems are correct
About You
  • 3+ years of accounting, related month end and analysis experience
  • CPA designated or in pursuit of CPA designation is preferred
  • Diploma or Degree in business, finance, or related study, or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • High level of initiative, problem solving skills and independent thinker
  • Advanced computer skills on MS office, accounting software and databases
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, and policies
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

  • This position reports to the Controller
  • This is a full-time position operating Monday to Friday may require overtime hours based upon the needs of the business
