Overview
CME Holdings Ltd. is a privately held group of companies involved in real estate development, corporate and residential leasing, loans and investments, manufacturing, and utility services. We\xe2\x80\x99re seeking an accountant to join our team in the role of Intermediate Accountant. In this role, you will assist in the production of financial information to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth. The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller in all aspects of accounting operations, including transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting. They are involved in financial processes related to Job transactions, cost accounting, payments, and reporting. The Intermediate Accountant is to ensure all company accounting procedures and reporting conform to Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Corporate Controller, your duties will include but not be limited to:
  • All aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • GL maintenance
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis and reports
  • Tracking costing and variance analysis for various projects
  • Liaising with external advisors, vendors, and customers
  • Tax schedules and filing returns
  • Payroll reporting and payments
  • Maintain files and documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Examine and analyze accounting and financial records, documents, and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Oversee Accounting department in the absence of the Controller.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 3 to 5 years in an intermediate-level accounting or finance role.
  • Working knowledge of federal, provincial, and tax compliance regulations and reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial data analysis.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Experience with payroll management (Ceridian).
  • Critical thinking and the ability to implement and follow internal policies and processes.
  • Proficient English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of interpreting and analyzing financial data.
  • Manage numerous priorities at once and be able to multi-task effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, and Teams
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software and understanding of ERP systems.

  • Must have transportation (no access via public transportation)
Job Type
  • Full-time, 6-month contract term position with the possibility of extension/permanent placement
Schedule
  • Monday to Friday \xe2\x80\x93 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional evening / weekends when meeting tight deadlines
Work Location
  • On location. No hybrid.
Compensation
  • Salary of $65,000 to $70,000
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months Salary: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year Schedule:

  • Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
