Key Responsibilities

• Reconciles balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and follows up on outstanding items.
• Assists Junior Accountant by providing support for the A/P function including coding and uploading invoices.
• Excel file maintenance and preparation of monthly reports and journal entries including those for benefits, utilities, prepaids, accruals, marketing, payroll and Food & Beverage.
• Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements and the annual budget.
• Prepares and updates Tables and Slots weekly performance reports as applicable.
• Prepares and updates Food & Beverage revenue and labour reports.
• Reviews Food & Beverage inventories and purchases and calculates month end cost of goods sold and expenses for Food & Beverage outlets.
• Prepares and submits PST, GST and WCB returns.
• Prepares intercompany invoices and reconciliations.
• Cross trains on Senior Accountant's responsibilities.
• Takes on additional responsibilities as needed.

What You Bring
Minimum of three year of progressive accounting experience and/or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

• Post-secondary diploma/degree in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred.
• Completion of, or working toward the CPA designation preferred but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and finance theories, practices, applicable legislation and related resources.
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of excel spreadsheets, database software and web browsers.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software; experience with Great Plains and Squirrel (F&B) is an asset.
• Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to facilitate the timely collection of data and information required to meet operational and departmental objectives.
• Ability to define, analyze and solve problems.
• Ability to perform efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
