We are looking for a motivated

Intermediate Accountant (Full-time, Permanent)

to join our growing finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement are valued.

Cotecna Canada, based in Burnaby, plays a key role in supporting trade, ensuring the safety and efficiency of global supply chains. We specialize in on-site supervision, sampling, and quality control for shipments moving through the Port of Vancouver.

What you'll do:

Manage daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, reporting, and reconciliations. Assist with financial statements, budgeting, and variance analysis. Coordinate with auditors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accuracy and compliance. Support tax filings, statutory reporting, and audit documentation. Maintain confidentiality and uphold company accounting standards and procedures.

What we're looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting. Strong understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS principles. Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (Navision, SAP, or similar). Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
