We are seeking an experienced interlock paver installer and landscape foremen for our growing company.
Responsibilities
This position is generally for those with 5-7+yrs working in the landscape industry.
-You are fully competent in all aspects of the jobs of your teammates under you.
-Ensure that the team is operating efficiently and meeting deadlines.
-Motivating and keeping your team moving efficiently is the biggest challenge of this position. A standard of speed and quality must be set, understood and maintained by the installers based on clear expectations of tasks set by you regardless of your immediate supervision.
-Communicate with the designer and project and general manager throughout construction to ensure cohesive hand-offs. Catch and report any discrepancies, errors, field verification items or different site conditions early on and suggest solutions based on your expertise.
-Read and understand commercial and residential landscape drawings.
-Map out a jobsite based on plans or renderings provided.
-Plan out the day and delegate work to the installers, leads and apprentices on a project.
-Be looking to the future, not just how today will flow, but as far in advance as foreseeable which ensures timely delivery of materials and organization of sub trades. This is maintained and facilitated through clear expectations of the installers and deadlines of our installations being met or exceeded.
-Familiarize yourself with the next project and make necessary preparations in advance to ensure efficiency.
-Mentor and train teammates when the opportunity arises - every skill they acquire is one less task you must perform yourself.
-Be mindful of grade on the project and ensure all excavation and final grades are set to proper height and depth. Assist and oversee installers setting the grade.
-Daily updates with the general manager; "What did we get done, what slowed us down, what do we need?"
-Organize the delivery of materials and aggregates on a jobsite and be responsible for their placement.
-Work with various other trades and subcontractors to ensure that a project is running smoothly. Communication is important.
-Check the work of the installers and the apprentices - remember, everyone will mess up. The important thing is to catch it early on and mitigate time lost. Coach them through these moments to avoid repeated mistakes, don't just fix it for them.
