Seeking an experienced
INTERIOR ARCHITECT / DESIGNER
. This position assists in producing interior architectural design, construction documents and furniture procurement for single-family luxury homes and multi-residential developments. The ideal candidate is someone with the following skills and experience:
Space Planning:
Efficiently organizing spaces to maximize functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Building Codes & Regulations
: Understanding and applying local building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.
Material Selection
: Choosing appropriate materials for durability, aesthetics, and sustainability.
Lighting Design
: Creating functional and atmospheric lighting schemes that enhance the space.
Sustainable Design
: Focusing on eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient solutions is especially important in passive house design.
Project Management:
Overseeing design projects from concept to completion, including coordination with contractors and tradespeople.
Client Communication & Collaboration:
Understanding clients' needs and working closely with them to achieve their vision.
Aesthetic Sensibility:
Having a strong eye for colour, texture, proportion, and composition.
Furniture & Fixture Selection:
Choosing furniture and fixtures that complement the overall design and enhance the space's functionality.
Technical Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in interior design from an accredited post-secondary institution
3+ years of working-related experience
Basic knowledge of the BC Building Code (for adaptable/accessible units)
Interior architecture in Revit: tasks include sheet setup, unit plans, reverse ceiling plans, area plans, interior elevations, furniture selection and placement, furniture family editing, labelling, and dimensioning
Interior rendering in Twinmotion and post-process in Photoshop
Experience in Office and Adobe Suite as side tasks may include meeting summaries, spreadsheets, lookbooks, material boards, etc.
Additional Software proficiency in SketchUp and Google G Suite
