THE ROLE:
Integration Engineers are critical members of our Project Teams and provide the hands-on technical expertise needed to deliver our products. They are responsible for the verification and validation of integrated systems in support of contractual deliverables both within our facilities and on location at our customer's facilities. This includes deployment, testing, troubleshooting, reporting, and triaging of technical information at a detailed level. Some documentation and design activities are also included in the role.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $72,000 per year, though actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience and qualifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviewing and understanding system designs and interface specifications for on-train and control centre equipment, resulting in solutions based on Quester Tangent and third-party products.
Understanding the user experience for Quester Tangent solutions delivered to customers and providing feedback to development teams about product enhancements and defects.
Working with software and hardware developers to create simulators and test management tools as components of the product test infrastructure.
Working with external system suppliers to incorporate protocols and data specific to their equipment interfaces.
Performing interoperability testing of network-connected equipment in both laboratory and field settings.
Preparing requirements, design, and test documentation to IEEE standards.
Communicating with customers and equipment suppliers about product specifications and requirements.
Perform miscellaneous additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
B.Sc., B. Eng, Technical Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from a recognised university or college.
Range of experience with electronic equipment in a product development environment
Understanding detailed behaviour of communication network protocols such as TCP/IP, Serial Communication in both wired and wireless configurations.
Understanding of embedded systems, data acquisition, and post processing systems.
Detailed knowledge and experience with Windows and Linux environments.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a methodical and effective manner.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%) primarily within Canada and the United States.
Valid passport and authorization (visa), or ability to obtain as required to travel to customer locations.
Security clearance may be required, depending on project assignments and client requirements.
