Job Description

We are seeking a talented

High Voltage Battery Calibration and Integration Engineer

to join our innovative team. In this role, you will focus on the calibration, integration, and optimization of high voltage battery systems for electric vehicles (EVs), ensuring the highest standards of performance, safety, and efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development and integration of advanced battery technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Battery Calibration



Develop, implement, and execute calibration strategies for high voltage battery systems. Optimize battery management systems (BMS) for charging, discharging, SOC, SOH, contactor control, cell balancing, and thermal management. Conduct performance testing and validation at both pack and vehicle levels. Analyze data to identify trends and propose solutions for improved battery efficiency, lifespan, and safety.

Battery System Integration



Ensure seamless communication and functionality between the BMS, EVCU, charging systems, and other vehicle systems during all network management events. Support battery system integration within vehicle powertrains or energy systems to meet performance specifications. Troubleshoot integration issues related to communication protocols, data logging, or performance anomalies.

Battery Performance Testing



Design and conduct tests to evaluate battery performance and efficiency. Utilize data acquisition systems and simulation tools to monitor battery behavior under real-world or load conditions. Validate battery systems against safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Optimization and Continuous Improvement



Analyze test data to recommend design improvements, enhancing performance, safety, and durability. Identify opportunities to improve battery calibration procedures, processes, and tools.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support



Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to troubleshoot battery-related issues and provide technical guidance. Support the creation of documentation, including test reports, calibration procedures, and integration guidelines.
Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (ABET-accredited). 3-5 years of hands-on experience in battery system development, calibration, and integration, especially high voltage systems. Experience with BMS, energy storage systems (ESS), or EV battery systems. Knowledge of battery chemistries (Li-ion, solid-state, etc.) and pack design principles. Familiarity with battery test equipment and simulation tools (e.g., CAN, INCA/MDA, MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW). Strong understanding of high voltage electrical systems and battery design. Proficiency in calibration tools, diagnostic software, and troubleshooting techniques. Experience with programming for battery management or integration (e.g., Python, C). Solid knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements for high voltage systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications



Experience in automotive, renewable energy, or grid-scale energy storage applications. Background in embedded systems or firmware development for battery systems. Familiarity with machine learning or AI techniques for battery optimization.

Work environment: office and lab. Must be able to drive a Stellantis vehicle.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.23-$48.87 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
