The
Integrated Compliance & HR Lead
is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining corporate policies and programs related to occupational health and safety, quality standards, and the coordination of human resources. This includes compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Ontario Ministry of Labour, WSIB, EMC, IEC, CSA, ESA, TSSA, and ISO 9001:2015. The role ensures that IDS maintains a safe, high-quality, and compliant working environment through proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and employee support.
Specifically, the Integrated Compliance & HR Lead will be responsible for the following three roles:
1. Health and Safety
Maintain and update health and safety policies, procedures, and programs (e.g., First Aid, AED, WHMIS, Fire Safety, Forklift Operation).Coordinate illness/injury reporting to WSIB and manage return-to-work programs.
Conduct accident investigations and recommend preventative measures.
Collect and analyze health and safety statistics; produce reports and identify trends.
Raise awareness of OHSA regulations through seminars and distributed materials.
Submit required documentation to WSIB, EMC, IEC.
Participate in and coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities.
Ensure employees receive adequate training for safe work practices.

Quality & Standards
Develop and maintain company Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and CSA standards.
Lead internal audits and manage corrective actions.
Monitor and report on quality objectives and performance metrics.
Ensure employees are trained on IDS standards and quality procedures.
Collaborate with management to establish KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Review and improve existing policies and procedures for quality compliance.
Ensure release of products and services meets quality standards.

Human Resources
Coordinate onboarding for new hires, ensuring mandatory safety and standards training.
Maintain training records and ensure certifications are current (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS, JHSC).
Develop and deliver internal training sessions related to safety, quality, and company policies.
Assist in drafting and updating HR policies related to workplace conduct, attendance, and performance.
Ensure employees are informed of policy changes and have access to updated documentation.
Act as a point of contact for employee concerns related to safety, standards, and compliance.
Support conflict resolution and promote a respectful workplace culture.
Track compliance with mandatory training and certifications.
Support managers in performance reviews by providing input on safety and standards adherence.
Assist in screening candidates for roles with safety-sensitive or standards-critical responsibilities.
Participate in interviews where QHSE knowledge is relevant.
Education:
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
Certificate or diploma in Quality Assurance is an asset.
Certificate or diploma in Operations Management is an asset.
Certificate or diploma in Human Resources is an asset.
Degree in Industrial Engineering is an asset.
Experience:
2 years of experience working directly with quality management systems, including CSA and ISO 9001
2 years of experience working in an operations/administration role
Knowledge of and performance of needs analyses and translating findings into actionable next steps.
Wage:
Salary$42K - $83K per year
Hours:
40 hours per week
Expected Development Time to Independence:
90 days.
Probationary Period:
90 days

Additional Training and Certifications:
Persons in this role may qualify for an IDS sponsorship when taken outside of company time. The employee must request company sponsorship in advance of their course. Payment will be made upon successful completion of the following:
