ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Real Estate Developer client is seeking an experienced insurance professional who can come in as a Insurance Risk Manager and take full responsibility of the company's complete portfolio of North American properties and ancillary operations. As an insurance subject matter expert, you will also be in charge of stakeholder relationship management on all insurance/risk related matters.

ABOUT THE POSITION

• Identify areas of concern and guide opportunities for improved risk management practices
• Establish and maintain insurance policies and guidelines for the corporate group
• In collaboration with Legal team, review all contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with insurance needs and to ensure policy wording is acceptable
• Act on behalf of the company to negotiate with insurance companies and/or broker partners and bind necessary coverage
• Work closely with claims adjusters towards claims settlement and payment receipt, and assist with insurer-appointed counsel on liability and subrogation claims
• Liaise with internal team to obtain and compile all information that is required for the placement of renewal of insurance
• Take part in internal review of insurance certificates provided by trades, consultants and tenants to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Act as key point of contact between brokers and internal team to ensure timely communication regarding: Purchase, sale or movement of assets; Status of Construction Projects; Provision of Insurance Certificates to Lenders, Partners, Trades and other internal parties

THE REQUIREMENTS

• CIP or CRM Designation
• Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
• Preferably 5+ years' experience with construction based insurance risks (COC's, Wrap-ups, etc.) for large organizations

• Attention to detail and Diligence
• Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite including intermediate to advanced Excel Skills
• Must be able to work full-time in the Downtown Vancouver office

COMPENSATION

• A competitive base salary in the range of $80,000 to $110,000 or higher based on experience
