About The Role

Our Complex Risk Unit \xe2\x80\x9cCRU\xe2\x80\x9d is looking for a strong Account Associate to support our clients in Toronto. This role was created as part of the HUB International Early Careers program and offers recent graduates exposure to various lines of business within our Complex Risk Unit.

The role requires a dynamic candidate who is responsive, possesses strong time management skills, and is eager to learn property and casualty insurance. What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do

Be exposed to all departments within the Complex Risk Unit and ensure timely issuance of submissions, binders, summaries, policies, etc.

Provide support and resolve basic client inquiries; communicate with insurance companies and respond to third-party information requests

File & Account Management, including but not limited to:
Preparation of client renewal packages (certificates, summaries, etc.)

Calculating provincial taxes, preparing premium finance quotes, etc.

Detailed policy proofing/ fact-checking

Invoicing / Account Receivables tracking

Day-to-day activities for clients and prospects

Managing abeyances and expiry dates

Liaise with underwriters forwarding submissions and following up where applicable

Negotiation and use of Finance Plans

Assist in minimizing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) to HUB standards

Preparing for and participating in client meetings

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need for Success

Valid RIBO license, or willingness to obtain in short order

College Diploma or University Degree or equivalent work experience

An interest in a career in commercial insurance

Experience in market negotiations on commercial policies is an asset

Strong aptitude to learn along with a desire to keep up to date with emerging trends

Results-oriented and passionate, with a strong sense of accountability, client management, and sales skills

A Solid team player who also possesses independence of thought

Proactive client-focused approach with effective negotiation and follow-up skills

Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Outlook

Experience with EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems is a plus
