Job Summary:



We are seeking a versatile and experienced Insulation Installer skilled in multiple insulation systems, including

spray foam, blown-in, and batt insulation

. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong mechanical aptitude. You will be responsible for high-quality installation work on project sites, and during periods with fewer installation jobs, you will be a crucial part of our in-house team, responsible for maintaining our application equipment, managing warehouse duties, and providing basic technical support.

This is a unique, hybrid role perfect for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work across different insulation types, and wants to be a key player in the operational success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Insulation Installation (On-Site):



Spray Foam Application:

Operate and calibrate high-pressure spray foam proportioners to apply open and closed-cell spray foam according to project specifications.

Blown-In Insulation:

Set up and operate a blowing machine to install loose-fill fiberglass or cellulose insulation in attics, ensuring even coverage and correct R-values. Install attic ventilation baffles and weather-strip attic hatches as required.

Batt & Vapour Barrier Installation:

Accurately measure, cut, and install fiberglass or mineral wool batt insulation in walls, ceilings, and floors. Install vapour/air barriers according to building codes, ensuring all seams and penetrations are properly sealed.

General Duties:

Prepare all job sites, including masking surfaces, covering fixtures, and ensuring proper safety and containment. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each specific insulation type. Maintain a clean and organized job site and company vehicle.

2. Equipment & Machine Maintenance (In-Shop):



Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on all installation equipment, including spray foam rigs, blowing machines, generators, and compressors. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime. Perform complete rebuilds and cleaning of spray foam guns. Maintain detailed service logs for all equipment.

3. Warehouse & Technical Support Duties:



Assist with the organization and management of warehouse inventory, including insulation materials, foam kits, and parts. Load and unload materials and equipment for upcoming jobs. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop and warehouse environment. Provide basic technical support to customers over the phone or email. Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager to support the team.

Qualifications & Skills:



Required:



Minimum 3+ years of professional experience installing various types of insulation. Demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the following systems:

spray foam, blown-in insulation, and batt/vapour barrier installation.

Valid Spray Foam Applicator Certification is highly desired. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in maintaining and repairing small engines or related equipment. Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving abstract. In-depth knowledge of Ontario Building Codes related to insulation and air barriers.

Considered a Strong Asset (Preferred):



Proficiency in all three major insulation systems (Spray Foam, Blown-in, Batt). Valid certifications for Working at Heights, WHMIS, and First Aid/CPR. Forklift operator license. Experience leading a small crew or training junior installers.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to lift and move heavy objects and material bags (up to 75 lbs) on a regular basis. Ability to work for extended periods in various weather conditions and non-climate-controlled environments (hot attics, cold new construction). Comfortable working in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces) and at heights (ladders, scaffolding). Properly use all required PPE, including full-face respirators, dust masks, protective suits, gloves, and safety glasses, depending on the material being installed.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
