Role: Instrumentation and Analyzer Technician Location: Kitimat, BC Shift: 28/7 Overtime: 2 hours/day, Weekends as needed Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required Additional Details: Relocation assistance provided. Long term/local opportunity in partnership with LNG Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Maintain and troubleshoot Gas Chromatographs, various Process Analyzers, and associated equipment. Oversee Analyzer Management and Data Acquisition Systems (AMADAS), including Analyzer Server Software, Engineering Terminals, and Process Sample Conditioning Systems. Operate, maintain and calibrate equipment operations for Bartec Benke, Hobre, Honeywell, ICON, K-Patents, Mitchel, SICK (CEMS), Yokogawa, ASI Keco, Dissolved Oxygen, E+H, Galvanic, GE Panamaterics, HACH, Servomex, Asap, Liquiline pH, Rodi Systems and Welker. Complete Asap and Welker Sampling. Adhere to all company Environmental, Heath, and Safety policies and procedures set out by the HSE department Manager. Mentor apprentices with the maintenance, replacement, and installation of equipment. Strong tubing skills with the ability to mentor apprentices. Calibrations of devices. Collecting information for QA/QC documents for the Project Managers. Use of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment and specialty tools, such as tubing benders. Strong understanding and use of Instrumentation Test Equipment & will be able to complete calibrations unattended. Capable of setting set points on safety shutdown device(s) & should be able to complete calibrations unattended in most situations. Working with more advanced meter(s) checking for continuity, resistance, voltages & current readings. Working with advanced calibration devices such as Hart Communicators, various RTUs and PLCs. Display the ability to lead on maintenance, construction and upgrade projects that may arise. A strong knowledge of Analyzers, Gas Chromatographs, and other process sensing equipment. Work on a variety of maintenance and construction projects in the oil and gas industry. Assisting others with basic troubleshooting skills and or can trouble shoot and make decisions on their own. Able to work on Process equipment at Plant facilities such as Boilers, Separators, Line heaters, Compressors, VRU's and other essential process equipment with little to no assistance. Will be able to work alone on or around any 'live' process or equipment without a Journeyman's presence, or a qualified customer representative's guidance. - This includes isolation and de-pressuring of any system, until they have displayed confidence and an understanding of the process SOPs but must be following ALL safety procedures. Familiar and confident in Gas Detection, LEL Detection & Fire Detection systems. Able to perform repairs, order material and train apprentices with regards to such tasks. Have a Strong understanding and able to calibrate more advanced devices such as Pressure, level & Temperature transmitters, all types of control systems. Responsible for all administrative, material ordering, and QAQC documents directly associated with the project at hand. Represent themselves professionally both to the customer and too CDN staff. Working conditions can vary from outdoors to indoors in hot and cold conditions and a variety of weather conditions. Working from heights - if all applicable safety measures and training has been provided to the technician. Also, only if the technician feels confident and comfortable to do so. Strong enough to be able to work on, organize and control projects with little or No guidance from others. The Journeyman technician should be able to display the safe work habits required on every job task or site. Provide guidance and training to the apprentices starting out in the trade, but most importantly to be able to ask for assistance if it is needed. Help is always available and should be available to all. All other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

:




Certified Journeyman Instrument Technician. Valid class 5 license with a clean driver's abstract. Must Pass Drug and Alcohol Test. Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Outlook, Word). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to deal with difficult people/situations with a calm demeanor. Flexibility in accommodating extra hours.
